Strategic Partnerships

Tri-Tech networks with a group of dependable professionals, vendors and contractors who have specialties that complement our services.  Tri-Tech staff is active in the Tri-State Society of Healthcare Engineers (TSHE), which is the local chapter of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering.  These partnerships ensure that our staff regularly receives healthcare-specific training to better serve our clients and their projects.  Our staff also has pursued special training such as university courses specifically focused on healthcare design and in-house training provided by vendors, to keep our staff up to date on the most current equipment, technology, and design practices applicable to the healthcare design industry.


Staff

Tri-Tech staff has experience working on healthcare facility projects ranging from small administrative office renovations to new construction of greenfield hospitals, in multiple types of facilities.  Our staff is knowledgeable in designing around the many codes and guidelines that govern the healthcare field, to provide our clients with the best design to meet their needs and allow for the best possible installation to serve both staff and patients.

Daniel Garman, PE, LEED AP BD+C – Manager of Healthcare Projects

Daniel is an Electrical Engineer and Project Manager for Tri-Tech, and is licensed in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin.  Daniel has spent a significant part of his career working on healthcare projects, from imaging suite renovations to operating rooms to new hospitals.  He has been involved in multiple facility expansion and renovation projects at Kettering Medical Center and Sycamore Medical Center, and assisted in design for Soin Medical Center and Mercy Health West Hospital.  Additionally, he has worked on projects in Mt. Carmel East, Mt. Carmel Saint Ann’s, Mt. Carmel West and Diley Ridge Medical Center.  Daniel has also assisted in design on projects for Life Care Centers of America including assisted living and skilled nursing facilities.  He has used these projects to build solid technical skills in many different applications.  Additionally, Daniel is the treasurer of the Tri-State Society of Healthcare Engineering.  Through his experiences on these campuses and others, he has gained knowledge of many different types of healthcare projects, and is excited to continue to build upon these past experiences.

Bob Thomson, PE, LEED AP BD+C – Managing Principal

Bob has over 25 years of mechanical engineering experience, and is Tri-Tech’s director of engineering. He has completed specialized training such as the University of Wisconsin course “Selecting Mechanical and Electrical Systems for Hospitals” in addition to training on other systems such as steam, ventilation and sprinkler design. Bob also holds certification as a Medical Gas Specialist (ASSE 6005).  Project expertise includes HVAC, IAQ, pumping and piping systems, industrial ventilation and forensic evaluations.  Additionally, he has worked on several projects including design of cleanroom systems, which included piped gas systems such as oxygen, nitrogen, fluorine, helium and vacuum systems.  He has designed cleanrooms according to ISO 14644 for classes 2-6 in multiple facilities.  His healthcare background includes medical, dental and laboratory facility designs such as Crossroads Medical Center (Vandalia, OH) and Tylersville Dental (Mason, OH), in addition to his work at Miamisburg Mound Laboratories.   Over the course of his career, Bob has developed the skills necessary to provide our clients with successful projects.

Mark Stemmer, PE, SE – Managing Principal

Mark has a master’s degree in structural engineering and over 24 years of experience. He is Tri-Tech’s director of Structural services and has designed structures for multiple healthcare facilities including St. Alexius Technology and Education Center (94,000 s.f., four-story facility in Bismarck, ND), Mendota Community Hospital (Mendota, IL), and the Dayton Ambulatory Surgery Center.  These projects have provided Mark with the experience necessary to provide clients with innovative practices, techniques, and groundbreaking design-building methods specifically tailored to the needs of healthcare facilities.

Glenn Chapman, PE – Project Manager

Glenn is a Mechanical Engineer who is registered in ten states with over 24 years of experience.  He has strong technical skills in HVAC system design, as well as plumbing and fire protection design, and has worked on multiple projects for educational and healthcare facilities, including the Health Science Center for Hardin Simmons University (Abilene, TX) and the Medical Office Building at the Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, TX).  He has also been involved in design for projects at Memorial Surgical Solutions Ambulatory Surgery Center (Houston, TX) and Aspire Behavioral Health of Conroe, TX.  His broad experiences in different parts of the country have given Glenn an excellent understanding of applications of different systems that are beneficial in healthcare design.

Dan Frye, PE – Project Manager

Dan is a versatile electrical engineer with 17 years of experience. His background includes low and medium voltage power distribution, lighting, process controls, HVAC controls, PLC programming, and mechanical systems for industrial and commercial facilities.  Through his extensive career, Dan has built a broad knowledge base and the technical skills to excel in adding value to healthcare design projects.
