Sports Facilities
Sports are integral to our American way of life, and Tri-Tech has had many opportunities to participate. Whether through donations and sponsorships to local athletes and clubs, or as part of the design team for stadiums, rinks and field houses; it’s always exciting to be involved.
Some of the projects that Tri-Tech has designed includes the Credit Union CU Plex , the Carleton Davidson Baseball Stadium, TOPS Gymnastics, the Ohio Motocross Arena, and several amenities for local schools and organizations.
One of Tri-Tech’s current projects is the Harold Alfond Athletics Complex located at the University of New England in Maine. This facility totals over 105,000 square feet and consists of a hockey rink, 4 basketball/volleyball courts, a full kitchen, locker rooms and more. Tri-Tech is providing the structural engineering for this project.
Another recent project (pictured) is located in the City of North Battleford in Saskatchewan, Canada. It is a four-component multipurpose facility referred to as the Credit Union CU Plex. Tri-Tech was involved in the structural engineering for two of the buildings – the curling rink and the field house. Other buildings include The Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts and Battlefords Co-Op Aquatic Centre. The new Curling Rink will have 6 sheets of ice with support spaces, a lounge and spectator seating. The Field House will have two fields with seating for 250 per field — one will have a turf like surface for field sports such as soccer, football and baseball. The other surface will be a rubberized multi-sport surface to accommodate sports such as volleyball, basketball, tennis, and badminton. The Field House will also include a running track and will serve as a space for trade shows.
